Where we came from and why it matters

RD Learning and Consulting was founded to close the gap between training that ticks boxes and learning that genuinely changes how people work. Too often, organisations invest in development that sounds impressive but fails to land in practice. We exist to make sure that does not happen.

Our work sits across five areas that most providers treat as entirely separate: leadership, management and EDI, customer service excellence, training design and delivery, e-learning development and quality assurance. The fact that we operate across all five is not accidental. It is what allows us to understand the full picture of what effective, credible learning looks like, and to bring that understanding into every engagement.

We work with organisations across the UK and East Africa, spanning charities and third sector organisations, corporate businesses, public sector teams and qualification providers. What they all have in common is a need for learning that fits the real context of the people it is designed for.

We do not adapt standard programmes to fit clients. We build from their context upwards. The sector, the team, the specific challenges: all of it shapes what we design. This takes more time than pulling something off a shelf, but it is why the learning actually works.

Inclusion is not optional

We design all our programmes to be genuinely accessible and relevant to the full range of people in any organisation. Our EDI work reflects a belief that inclusion makes organisations better, not just more equitable. This principle runs through everything we deliver, not only our dedicated EDI programmes.

RD Learning and Consulting was built around a straightforward but important observation: people and organisations consistently seek out learning that makes a genuine difference and consistently struggle to find it.

The consultancy draws on years of management experience and a deep grounding in learning design, assessment and quality assurance across multiple sectors. That combination of practical management knowledge alongside formal expertise in learning design and quality assurance is what allows us to design training that works in the real world rather than just in the training room.

What drives the work is clear: watching people develop skills they actually use, seeing teams function better, and supporting organisations to build the capacity they need to reach their goals.
